November 11 is Remembrance Day. It is also called Veterans Day, Armistice Day, or Poppy Day. This day commemorates the end of the First World War (1918) and honors the men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. War remembrance services take place on November 11 in the US, Canada, the UK and many other nations around the world.
