At ESL Library, we think every day is Earth Day. You can find many more lessons to pick from in our Lesson Collection about The Environment. You’ll find lessons on Global Warming, Deforestation, OverfishingCruise Ships, and more.

We also have an Earth Day Idioms poster that you can use to spark a discussion about the state of the earth today. This poster will also help you find out which issues your students are interested in, so that you can choose some appropriate lessons to try this week. Each example in the poster relates to one of our ready-made lesson plans from our Discussion Starters section.

Thanks for your requests for a lower level Earth Day lesson. This year we added a low-intermediate level lesson. Next year we may add one for beginners.

I agree with Nakeem and am happy to hear you are addressing the Beginner level. Although I have used some of your material, I’ve been disappointed overall finding it too difficult for my students.

Thanks for visiting the blog, Diana. If you don’t mind, could you please have a look at our Beginner level Easter lesson to see if this level is appropriate for your students. As you have likely read in our recent newsletters, we are making Beginner level materials our priority in 2015. https://esllibrary.com/courses/93/lessons/1888

You could also check out our Beginner level Famous People lesson on Barack Obama. This will give you an idea of the direction we are heading with our reading based lessons. This lesson is now available in Beginner, Low-Intermediate, and High-Intermediate. https://esllibrary.com/courses/80/lessons/1969

And, as I mentioned to Nakeem, we are adding new Beginner level materials every month. This month we’re adding a Beginner (and an Intermediate) lesson to our Famous People section about South Korean figure skater Kim Yuna.

Thanks for helping us build the library that teachers want and need.
      Happy Earth Day,
      Tara

You are right. We need a beginner level Earth Day lesson. We are gradually adding beginner holiday lessons. Hopefully we will have one ready for next year. You can check out some of our lower level lessons by filtering by “Beginner.” We add new content every month. Thanks for your feedback.

The Earth Day lesson is too advance for my class. I’m not at all happy with your website because I can’t use any material for my class. I’m really sorry to say this.
