March 31 is Cesar Chavez Day. Cesar Chavez was an American from Arizona who advocated for the rights of migrant workers. He formed the United Farm Workers union and often fasted to raise awareness for migrant workers’ rights.

Today’s podcast features a reading from our intermediate Famous People lesson about Cesar Chavez. In the related lesson, students read a biography and answer comprehension questions. They also learn and practice new vocabulary and discuss workers’ rights.
